The north section of the Cape San Blas peninsula is one of the most popular spots in Gulf County, thanks to the white sand beaches and most consistently clear and emerald blue Gulf and Bay waters. This is a west-facing peninsula that frames St. Joe Bay and features sunsets over the water year-round from this 14-mile long peninsula. The northern-most 7 miles of this peninsula is the T. H. Stone St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, which is often ranked as one of the top beaches in the United States. While there is a history of beach erosion on the west-facing shoreline, the real estate values and return on rental properties are the highest in the county on the North Cape. The shelling, hiking, beach and bay fishing, kayaking, boating, and exploring options are plentiful on the North Cape with a boat ramp in the state park, and most subdivisions provide deeded access to the beach and/or the bay. There are many subdivisions on the North Cape, as the density is a bit higher here. Some of the more popular communities include Secluded Dunes, Barrier Dunes, Seacliffs Condos, Park Point, Sunset Point, Ovation, Peninsula Estates, Cape Breezes, San Dunes, Seagrass, Ocean Haven, The Preserve, Hibiscus, and San Blas Estates. There are a few restaurants and food options on the North Cape, along with a couple of grocery/convenience/gift stores, a gas station, and several more property management and real estate offices.
