Ever wonder what’s the latest news from Cape San Blas? I know I did before I was able to move here full time in 1994.

I’ve set up this blog to be your eyes and ears on the Cape to keep you up-to-date on the latest happenings in real estate, local issues, and maybe even a smidgen of gossip from time to time. Feel free to let me know if there are specific issues you’d like me to address or if you have suggestions for improving this blog.

The original projected date for starting the project was October 1, 2007. Due to the petition that has been filed against our permit, FDEP cannot issue our permit at this time. As a result, SJBAC cannot provide a projected date for construction to begin; however, they have received approval to extend the project over a two-year period, should that become necessary. Do you know the status of the beach restoration plan? Isn't it supposed to start in August 2008?

Ah, the classic summer question; "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" Glad you asked, Dave. I'm currently working on a post that will address just what factors might indicate we've hit the market's bottom . . . or if we're still just "almost there". Stay tuned, and thanks for writing.
