Open For Business

Published on September 13, 2008 by Sherri Dodsworth under Beach Renourishment, Cape San Blas, Port St. Joe

For the first time since Wednesday, the wind has finally subsided, the bay is calm, the sun’s shining brightly and life is good. Cape San Blas Road has one lane through Stumphole open only to local residents and guests with reservations (read that: no rubberneckers, please), so come one down.

The surf is still splashing over the rocks at high tide which is at 10 a.m. this morning, so if you don’t have a 4-wheel drive, you may want to wait until later in the afternoon to cross without issue. A friend of mine who drove through last night around 7 (low tide) said the lane was nice and clear and she had no problems at all.
