I have always maintained there is an art to knowing when to leave a party. In early 2020, just as we were all trying to get our heads around coping with Covid, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, a condition about which I knew nothing at the time. In the past two years I’ve learned that to live well with PD requires a lot of time and effort. After 27 years as a Cape San Blas area Realtor and 15 years of writing this blog, the disease has now progressed to the point where I can no longer physically meet the daily demands of working in real estate so, reluctantly and regretfully, I must admit it is time for me to leave this party I love so much.
Over the years, I’ve cherished my relationship with you, my readers. My goal has been to have the weekly post out no later than noon on Saturday, and on the rare occasion I missed that deadline, I would inevitably start receiving some emails asking if I was ok, would I be posting later? I learned that reading my weekly update was a regular part of many readers’ Saturday morning routine.
Because of that loyalty, I couldn’t just pull the plug on the blog and let it go. There is also a significant body of local history within its pages. For example, the entry on 10/12/2018 when I posted in the uncertain immediate aftermath of Hurricane Michael.
So, on a bright note, rest assured your weekly blog updates will continue. Today I am passing the baton to and entrusting my friend and fellow Coastal Realty Realtor Chris Petrie with officially taking the helm as of January 28. Chris brings 20 years of local real estate experience as both a Realtor and as former Owner/Manager of the Turtle Beach Inn, experience I know he will put to good use at CapeSanBlasBlog.com. He is highly respected by his clients, customers and fellow Realtors. Superlative writing is among his skills, which in this business translates into eye-catching listing copy and sales. (I have to confess, no one writes better listing copy than Chris). I know you will enjoy reading his informative posts as he keeps you up-to-date on sales activity in our red-hot real estate market.
To reach out to Chris, call or text him at 850-899-8765 or send a note to [email protected] .
Thank you so much for following my blog. I have thoroughly enjoyed bringing it to you and know that I am leaving you in good hands.
