The National Association of Realtors (NAR) reported on Thursday that sales of existing homes nationally rose 1.4% in June year over year. In our Cape market, eleven homes sold in June 2020 and this June we more than doubled that with twenty-three sales. We continued to race along at high speed this week as we closed five sales and wrote up ten new contracts (three houses and seven lots). Sellers added twelve new listings and made five price changes, one of which was an increase. Our inventory remains unchanged from last week, closing once again at 117, with twenty-six homes and ninety-one lots listed for sale in the Cape San Blas, Indian Pass and C-30 Corridor MLS market.
Demand for houses remains strong, but lots are moving again as well, so if you’re considering selling, this is a perfect time to make your move. Conversely, if you’re thinking of buying, prices are on the rise and mortgage rates dropped again this week so you might want to act sooner rather than later.
