Once you turn onto Cape San Blas (CR 30-E), you are on the southern portion of Cape San Blas, what most locals call the South Cape. The South Cape is very different from the North Cape since it is an extension of the same south-facing shoreline from Indian Pass and the CR 30-A corridor to the east. As this shoreline continues west, the wide beach with plenty of pines and palms offers continued natural settings which are set back further from the Gulf when compared to the North Cape in most cases. This 2.6-mile stretch extends from CR 30-A to the Eglin Air Force Base property, just before the rock wall where the Cape San Blas peninsula turns north. There are both beachfront and bayfront communities and properties available on the South Cape. Some of the more popular subdivisions along this area include Two Palms, Cape Dunes, The Boardwalk (Surfside Estates), Eventide, Piney Woods, The Club At Cape San Blas, and the Dunes Club (both condos), South Beach, San Blas Plantation, and Jubilation. Amenities on the South Cape include Salinas Park, a beachfront and bayfront park with pickleball courts, playground and walking trails, Scallop RePUBlic live music bar, The Sand Bucket Restaurant, the South Gulf County Volunteer Fire Department, along with a couple of property management offices and the Coastal Realty Group office.
